“Live in the Հիմա (Now) because that’s all you’ve got. If you’re at AUA, be happy about it! And if you’re not, what are you waiting for!?!? Apply ASAP.”

Why did you choose AUA?
When I graduated from high school, my parents encouraged me to stay in Armenia. While researching local universities, AUA stood out for me because of its language of instruction and academic setting. It’s the only in Armenia that offers General Education. Who cares? Well for me, a well-rounded education gives me more tools to think creatively, adapt quickly, and work effectively with others and I feel like this is absolutely vital for someone living in this century.

Why Computer Science?
My primary motivation to study CS was because I love math. CS majors have the opportunity to pursue the Mathematical Modeling track during their studies. This is how I envision my future learning.

What kind of career do you want in the future?
I’m still at that stage in life where my interests change. I am passionate about math and music. I also enjoy many of my general education courses like Genocide Studies. Looking forward, I imagine my future will combine a little bit of all of these fields.

What do you feel you’ve gained since coming to AUA?
A network. My fellow students and professors are the most valuable asset I have gained so far. At AUA, I have met people who have become my role models. And equally important, AUA has injected in me a love towards learning and education.

What are your interests outside of the classroom?
I compose music, play the piano, and take part in social gatherings. In addition to my studies at AUA, I am also studying at Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan where I major in Music Composition.

Your advice to applicants and future students:
Applicants: Know what you are coming for. Take part in at least one Open House and feel free to bombard the Office of Admissions with as many questions as you have. I overdid this and attended five :).

Future students:Classes are fun but do not forget to stay socially active and take part in on and off campus events.
