GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN TRANSLATION

The Graduate Certificate in Translation (CTr) is a program offered by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. It is open to anyone interested in the program, including senior undergraduates and graduate students enrolled at AUA who wish to prepare for rewarding careers as translators and cross-cultural communications specialists. If you have a passion for languages, want to keep up with the latest developments in the field, and want to work with some of the best scholars and translators in the region, this program is for you.

Full-time students complete the program over the course of one year while part-time students over the course of two years. The program typically consists of two fifteen-week semesters. Courses are scheduled during evening hours. Upon successful completion of the coursework (4 courses at 3 credits each for a total of 12 credits), students receive a Certificate in Translation from English into Armenian and vice versa.

GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN TEACHING ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

The Graduate Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (CTEFL) program enhances the professional knowledge and practical skills of in-service and pre-service classroom teachers in Armenia and throughout the region. It is designed to meet the needs of those current and future teachers who may not have the time or aspiration to pursue a Master’s degree but want to keep up with the latest developments in the field and improve their teaching. CTEFL courses have been carefully selected to build a highly practical experience with hands-on assignments, observation and teaching fieldwork.

CTEFL Offerings

CTEFL students complete the program within two academic semesters – Fall and Spring, each lasting 15 weeks. They join their classes along with MATEFL students on AUA campus. 

Completion Requirements

To successfully complete the CTEFL program, students must complete all required courses with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. CTEFL recipients who wish to pursue further study towards the MATEFL may transfer their CTEFL courses towards the MATEFL program.

GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT

The program is open to those interested in a rewarding career in the field of tourism and hospitality management as well as for those who want to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams in the hospitality industry. The program will provide students with the skills required to succeed in the fields of tourism and hospitality management through exploring the fundamental concepts of management and the Program will help graduates prepare for the next step in their careers by developing the skills and know-how essential for managerial-level professionals, including advanced business acumen, strategic insight, high-level management skills, and specialized industry knowledge.  
Lectures will be held by leading specialists in the field paired with guest speakers from throughout the hospitality industry.
Upon successful completion of coursework (seven courses totaling 14 credits), students receive a Graduate Certificate in Tourism and Hospitality Management. 
To successfully complete the CTHM program, students must complete all required courses/modules with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. CTHM graduates who wish to further pursue their studies toward the MBA program may transfer their CTHM courses and credits toward the boot camp and/or free electives.

GRADUATE EXECUTIVE CERTIFICATE IN MANAGEMENT

The Graduate Executive Certificate in Management (ECM) is an 8-month program offered by the Manoogian Simone College of Business and Economics (CBE) jointly with Zaven & Sonia Akian College of Science and Engineering and Gerald and Patricia Turpanjian College of Health Sciences. The program is open to professionals with 8+ years of experience, aspiring a managerial career in IT, Finance or Healthcare. The Program will help graduates prepare for the next step in their careers by developing the skills and know-how essential for managerial-level professionals including effective communication & personal management, leadership & work psychology, as well as specialized knowledge on managing projects and products on an executive level: project & product management for students aspiring a successful managerial career in IT, and high-level managerial skills tailored for students aspiring managerial careers in Finance and Healthcare.

To successfully complete the ECM program, students must complete all required courses/modules (12 credits, including 3 credits from industry-specific electives) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Classes include Business Communication, Organization Management, Special Topics in Leadership, and Project & Product Management.
