Application Requirements


The below is a list of all application requirements for enrollment in non-degree studies. Review them in detail to ensure you submit a complete and eligible application. Further instructions are provided in the online application.


1. Application for Enrollment in Non-Degree Studies

Submit an online Application for Enrollment in Non-Degree Studies at admissions.aua.am/apply, including all required supplements as outlined on this page and in the application instructions.


2a. English Language Proficiency

Present proof of English-language proficiency typically through one of the following options:

  • TOEFL iBT or IELTS Academic 
  • English Language Proficiency Test Waiver –Native and near-native speakers are eligible for a waiver. For more information, please read the English Language Proficiency Test Waiver policy. To apply for a waiver, submit an online Application for Waivers at admissions.aua.am/apply.
    Note: AUA graduates within past five years do not need to apply for a waiver: they receive it automatically.
  • Internal Assessment – This assessment will be offered during an extended enrollment interview when applicants may also be assessed on their English speaking, listening, and writing skills. The internal assessment may be conducted in a different format by each program.

Score Validity and Reporting

TOEFL/IELTS scores are valid only if your test date was less than two years before the application submission date. You must ensure that official test scores are sent to AUA directly from the testing service, using AUA’s institution codes as noted below:

  • TOEFL iBT code 4151
  • IELTS Academic – 40 Baghramyan Ave, Yerevan

2b. Graduate Standardized Tests

While Graduate Standardized tests are not a requirement for non-degree studies, we encourage you to provide information on whether you have taken or are planning to take the GRE, GMAT, or LSAT exams.


3. Proof of undergraduate degree or equivalent (undergraduate diploma and transcript)

When applying, you must hold an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) from or currently be enrolled in your final year of studies at an accredited or licensed institution of higher education. If you are still enrolled in your final year of studies, then you must submit an official letter from your university to confirm your enrollment and the expected date of your graduation, along with your up-to-date official transcript, including your cumulative GPA.

Note: all admitted students must submit official proof of graduation, the award of their Bachelor’s degree, before the start of classes at AUA. We do not keep original documents, and return them immediately after verification.
