Reapplication and Appeal process

1- Reapplication

Before you reapply, we strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with our reapplication policy to make sure you meet all the application requirements. Please see Point #4 under our Graduate Admissions Policy if you are reapplying for graduate studies, or see Point #4 under our Undergraduate Admissions Policy if you are reapplying for undergraduate studies. The information below applies to both undergraduate and graduate reapplicants.

Undergraduate applicants who were denied admission to AUA are allowed to reapply within the same admission cycle and to the same major only if they have new (higher) English or Math proficiency test scores; without these updates, reapplication will not be allowed in the same admission cycle, and the applicant has to wait for the coming year.

The applicant has the right to reapply to another program of interest with the same credentials for the same admission cycle.

Accepted applicants who did not enroll at AUA nor deferred their offer of admission, students who were withdrawn or dismissed from AUA must also reapply for the coming academic year. Reapplications will be reviewed by the UAC, and must be submitted by the published admission deadlines.

Graduate applicants whose applications were previously denied, withdrawn or marked technically ineligible, must submit a new online application for admission, including all required documents. If you were accepted previously but did not enroll or did not defer your offer of admission, you must also reapply. Application requirements may change from year to year; therefore, you must meet all current requirements.
We strongly encourage you to provide new information or evidence that supports your ability to succeed in your studies at AUA when reapplying.

Test Scores
For eligibility purposes, we highly recommend retaking any tests on which you have received low scores. If your test scores are no longer valid, you will need to retake the required tests. You should self-report all scores in your application.

Validity of Test Scores

  • SAT and ACT: 3 years from test date
  • TOEFL iBT and IELTS Academic: 2 years from the test date
  • GRE, GMAT, and LSAT: 5 years from the test date

Recommendation Letters (for graduate programs only)
We highly encourage you to submit new recommendation letters as they may help us better understand any progress or growth you have demonstrated since the time of your previous application. However, you may keep your old recommendation letters as they are valid for one year.

Dismissed Students

If you were dismissed from AUA, you may not be admitted to or enroll in degree or certificate programs or non-degree courses for one calendar year. For more information, visit our Probation and Dismissal policy.

Advice to Reapplicants
Approach your application with a fresh perspective. Add new information that may be helpful in the admission review process. And if possible, address any areas of relative weakness. This can include your entrance exam scores, grades, extracurricular/volunteer activities, statement of purpose/personal statement, and professional experience.

2- Appeal Process

Applicants may appeal and request a reconsideration of an application decision. Appeals are submitted the working day following the admission decisions online through this form, after each admission deadline decisions.

All submitted information will be reviewed by the University Admission Appeal Committee (AC), and will become part of the student’s admission application record. Applicants will be notified in writing of the Committee's decision within five working days from the submission date.
